Waste Collection
Currently in Mowbray and Rosebank
We offer 3 options for waste collection
1. A weekly comprehensive collection @ R50 per month which includes the Ring My Bell service if requested. Click here for details of what we collect.
2. A FREE weekly food and garden waste collection for processing into compost.
3. An ad-hoc collection of recycling at R30 per collection.
Our dedication to a greener Cape Town encompasses a broad spectrum of waste materials. Whether it’s recyclables, garden waste, or compostables, we have it covered:
Compostables
Food waste (excluding raw meat), peelings, and more.
Garden waste
Cuttings, grass trimmings, and small branches (no larger than 15mm diameter). No stones or sand.
Recyclables
Clean plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, paper, and polystyrene.
E-waste
Electronic waste, old electrical appliances, light bulbs, batteries etc. Please place these items in a separate clear bag or box.
When you sign up for collections, we’ll provide you with information on when to expect your recycling pickup. Our aim is to make recycling as convenient as possible for you.


Guidelines for sorting your waste
Proper sorting is crucial for efficient recycling. Here’s how to prepare your waste for collection:
Kitchen waste
Place food waste in a plastic bucket with a lid. This will be returned to you clean after each collection.
Garden waste
Use clear plastic bags or tie into bundles. Do not add stones or sand.
Plastic
Both recyclable and ‘non-recyclable’ plastics are accepted. Place other items in a clear plastic bag or a cardboard box, ensuring items, especially food containers, are rinsed to prevent contamination.
Glass
We collect glass bottles and jars only. No broken or plate glass.
Kitchen waste
Place food waste in a plastic bucket with a lid. This will be returned to you clean after each collection.
Cardboard & paper
Including cereal boxes. If soiled, these can be added to compost.
Metal
We accept tins, aluminium cans, scrap metals, foils, and foil containers.
Foam/ Polystyrene
All clean forms are acceptable.
Miscellaneous Items
Place e-wastes, batteries, etc., in a separate clear bag or box.
