Celery is a nutrient rich, low-calorie food. Celery is a good source of fibre and contains vitamin K, A & C, calcium and iron. There are 2 types: leaf or soup celery, or long-stalked celery. Celery is mildly diuretic, so is used in cleansing diets and health juices. Excellent in salads, stir fries and stews. Try a different breakfast omelette: saute chopped onion & celery gently till soft, add beaten egg. Enjoy! Make your own pasta sauce: saute onion, garlic, celery and tomatoes (vary by adding some grated carrot) …add some dried or fresh Origanum & seasoning.
